Whoa! Did I really nearly forget to review this movie?! What's wrong with me? I must've fallen out of my routine. Well, I guess that's to be expected because I haven't seen a movie for more than 2 months! And for me, that's a record! I mean, there was a time when I couldn't last for more than 2 weeks without seeing a movie. But I guess the recent slump was also due to the fact that there were hardly any interesting movies playing for the past 2 months. Anyhow, I just checked Yahoo! Movies, and it looks like the line-up for this year is looking up! And with this movie kicking it off, I'd say I'm in for a great next few months.
I absolutely loved this movie! Every bit of it. I even temporarily forgot my dislike for Ben Stiller, because this movie was just great! I mean, museum artifacts coming to life?! Who wouldn't love it, right? And I think I loved it even more than the average person, being really addicted to museums, and all. I love museums (in case you didn't know). So I guess I'm really starting this review by telling you that there's already some kind of bias from me.
My brother said that it was a kiddie movie. But I disagree. I mean, "kiddie parts" (and from that I mean all the father-son bonding, life-lessons-learning parts) aside, it was still funny and cool and interesting.
Anyway, I don't want to say too much in case you haven't seen it yet, but let me just tell you that this is very highly recommended--if you all want a good laugh, and at the same time if you want a movie that will get you thinking. It's way up there with the Back to the Future trilogy.
