I must've spoken too soon when I said that all of Amanda Bynes' movies are great. Or maybe I jinxed them, because this one certainly did not meet my expectations.
The story seems interesting enough--girl is obsessed with a rockstar, finds herself stranded with him on a deserted island, realizes the island isn't actually deserted, but keeps playing along that it is anyway so she can spend more time with said rockstar. I guess what made the story suck was how there's the other guy, pretending to be her best friend but really loves her and that's so overused, and the other girl who's also obsessed with the rockstar, and of course, antagonizes everything the lead girl does.
For a story you find on the internet, or a fanfic, it would be really good. But as a movie... Yeah, it pretty much sucked.
I'm not saying it's all bad though. I also think that it's one of those movies that you can watch at parties -- because you don't need to pay attention to it too much and you can still understand it. Actually, it might be good to not pay too much attention to it, so you won't notice Jonathan Bennett's bad acting. I mean, sure, he was so cool in Mean Girls, but judging from this movie, I don't think he's ready to take a really big role yet.
Anyway, it's all so-so with this movie, I mean, it wouldn't be fair to expect too much considering it's a teen movie and not a big Hollywood production at that.
